When the airport grew rapidly, it became unsustainable for a receptionist to maintain and handle 1091 keys using a manual key register and locker. In 2017, therefore, the key stock was migrated to an electronic key management system, which made the routines much more efficient.
The key cabinets are strategically located throughout the airport so that the keys are easily accessible to staff and suppliers. The use of a key management system ensures functions such as self-service and inspection.
Due to their popularity among the staff, the business has decided to expand the system with more key cabinets.
